To woo Zuckerberg, Yahoo has offered about $900 million for Facebook and says it will keep the company somewhat independent, with Zuckerberg in charge.
It’s probably a bit late to call this one “getting out of hand,” but, well, it is. After starting out with a rather frivolous lawsuit in the first place, and then moving on to greater heights when Shannon Derrik’s mom turned down a free iPod nano delivered to their door, the debacle looks to be headed to the television via the Judge Judy show.
The Wired News office received an invitation to attend a special event next Tuesday, September 26 hosted by Jay Adelson and Kevin Rose of Digg.com and David Prager of Revision3. There’s going to be an announcement at the event about Digg and Rev3’s plans for a new internet TV venture.
The promotion starts Oct. 7 as part of Great America’s annual weekend FrightFest. In return, a roach-eater will receive a T-shirt and a pass to bring three pals to the front of any ride line. The undated pass will be good for all of FrightFest, which ends Oct. 29.

Japan’s one of the last industrialized nations in the world where adult smoking is still widespread, but the country’s got a sophisticated cigarette etiquette, which includes carrying portable ashtrays for your butts, and not walking while you smoke. Chordbook.com is a virtual playground for guitarists. The site is one of the most popular guitar chord databases on the ‘Net, and was once listed as one of the BBC’s top 10 educational sites. Glasgow guitarist Bob Melrose created the site as a hobby, using Adobe Flash on top of Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.
